libre comme l’art

My artistic journey took shape in childhood, when, perched on my father’s shoulders, I gazed at angels painted on the ceiling of a French castel. I asked him, «Dad, will I ever get to dance with the angels?» He replied, «My darling, if you want to fly with them, you’ll have to create them yourself.» That moment marked the beginning of my artistic quest: to convey meaning, breathe life into stories, and rekindle forgotten emotions and memories. Since that day, art has become my way of engaging with the world, through dialogue with symbols, icons, and typography. At the age of 12, visual arts were already at the heart of my studies. It was then that I surrounded myself with a tribe of creative friends, exploring diverse fields and daring to pioneer an artistic approach that was sometimes absurd and whimsical. A perfectionist with a passion for detail, I strive to craft distinctive visual identities, capturing the essence of a place, an era, or an emotion, and making them extraordinary. For me, the soul of every project is vital, and I endeavour to bring a living dimension to it, forging a tangible link between the past and the present.

âme sensible, s’obstiner

In 2004, I co-founded the Codefrisko studio in Brussels, which has since evolved into « Audrey Schayes Atelier. » Over the years, I have crafted brand identities for a wide range of sectors, spanning fashion, gastronomy, cosmetics, and the cultural domain. My approach has always been to perceive the world as I feel it: a perspective imbued with poetry that transcends the everyday. This vision has resonated with clients across the globe. A journey to Portugal introduced me to a new kind of light—the radiant and unique brilliance of Lisbon. In the colourful azulejos, I rediscovered the creatures I used to see in the clouds and draw as a child. The fusion of Brussels’ bold artistic energy with a sense of poetic nostalgia has brought a more personal dynamic to my work. It has deepened my passion for creating a dialogue between the past and the future, blending timeless elegance with modernity, all while staying true to my commitment to constant growth.Behind every project, there is purpose and mindfulness. If, through my modest contribution, I can play a part in awakening consciousness, it would bring me great joy.
